My first card-making class, we made Graduation projects!

On Tuesday, May 10th, I taught my first card-making class at my local Rec Center, and even though I only had 1 student, Heather, we had a great time! She ended up receiving 1 on 1 instruction and learned a lot! And since she was the only one there she got to play with all of my fun tools!

We made two cards and a tag. The tag has a pocket that is perfect for a gift card or some cash. Heather is going to use one of them for her nephew.

I thought it would have been a more popular class since most people know someone who is graduating from some kind of school or program. But it was my first time trying it out and I learned a lot myself. I can't just rely on social media to get the word out about classes, so next time I will do a lot more advertising and hope that word of mouth will spread and I will get more students.

I used products from multiple companies in the making of these projects:

Stamps are from Lawn Fawn, Concord & 9th, Elle's Studio, and SSS

Dies are from Waffle Flower, Concord & 9th, Lawn Fawn, and My Favorite Things

The papers I used are from Bazzill, American Crafts, Concord & 9th, and Neenah

Inks used are from Concord & 9th, Versafine, Versamark

Other tools and supplies are: Gold embossing powder, a heat gun, black and white twine, tape runner, foam tape, a gold marker, paper trimmer, die cutting machine, Bearly arts liquid glue, the MISTI tool, and an acrylic block

Thanks for visiting today,

happy crafting, and have a great day!

C9 Summer Camp 2021-Arts & Crafts class part 2

 (June 26, 2021)

C9 Summer Camp Arts & Crafts class part 2 with Becky Roberts was so cool!

This project took a while for me, because those that know me, know that I am a perfectionist. I wanted this wreath to look just right!

I had to pause the video many times to make sure I was doing all the steps correctly.

I added some shading to all of the flowers and leaves before shaping all the pieces and putting them together.

(you can't see the shading in the photos, but in real life, it looks really neat)

I arranged my flowers and leaves differently than Becky and I am very pleased with how my wreath turned out!

After it was all done I sprayed some shimmer spritz on it to give it a little bit of sparkle!

I am going to have a lot of fun playing around with this die set to make all kinds of foliage and flower arrangements!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

C9 Summer Camp 2021-Arts & Crafts class part 1

 (June 26, 2021)

C9 Summer Camp Arts & Crafts class part 1 with Caly Person was amazing! I absolutely love the way these fun 3D cards turned out!

The die set used to make these has so much potential, I can’t wait to make more fun projects with this set!

I was grateful for the step-by-step instructions that were definitely needed to put these together!

I added my own twist with some Wink of Stella glitter pen, some white gel pen and I used my alcohol inks to add some sand to my beaches, some dirt around the base of the trees, and the cabin in my mountain scene card.

The cool thing about these 3D cards is that they fold down flat and fit into a regular A2 size envelope and when the recipient opens it up the card will pop up and they can put it on display!

The back panel of the card is a great place to write your message to the recipient.

I had so much fun making these 3D scene cards and I can’t wait to make more!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

C9 Summer Camp 2021 Turnabout Class part 2

 (June 26, 2021)

C9 Summer Camp Turnabout class part 2 with Cathy Zielske was great! She is so very funny and I love her approach to clean and simple card making!

The turnabout stamp set for this class was a little different than the first and I am grateful again for the step-by-step instructions that they shared to help us all get things lined up so that they would stamp correctly. I love how this turnabout set creates a circle of flowers, isn’t it so pretty?

And the awesome thing with the turnabout stamp sets is that you can customize your paper or background by using different colors of ink, the color combinations are endless!

For the second card in this class, we didn't use the turnabout but Cathy showed us a way to use the individual images in the stamp set to create a soft stamped background and then layer a cluster of foliage around the sentiment. I think it's so pretty!

I am so pleased with how my cards turned out, once again I added shading around the edges but very lightly because I wanted to keep that clean and simple look.
I also added sequins to mine to give it that last little touch of sparkle!

Thank you for visiting, have a great day!

C9 Summer Camp 2021 Turnabout Class Part 1

(June 26, 2021)

C9 Summer Camp Turnabout class part 1 with Laura Bassen (who was also my camp counselor!) She is so fun, I love all of her one-liners and her crazy personality!

We used a new turnabout stamp for card number one and I was grateful for the step-by-step instructions. The Concord and 9th turnabout stamps are so cool!

The exclusive turnabout stamp we got in our camp kit was used to make the background paper for this card. After we stamped our background the rest of the card was made with die-cuts.

I put my own twist on both cards by using some inks to add shading to all of the die cuts and the strips of paper on the second card.

I am in love with these cards, they turned out awesome!
I love that little van die too, isn’t it adorable!?

Thank you for visiting today, have a great day!

C9 Summer Camp 2021 Watercolor Class Part 1

 (June 25, 2021)

C9 Summer Camp Watercolor class part 1 with Kristina Werner Hansen was so amazing and super fun!

I am so happy with how my cards turned out, they are beautiful!

I have known about these techniques for a while now but I have hesitated on getting out my supplies and doing them. It was so nice getting tips from Kristina as we worked on our projects at the same time.

The 5x7 card with the black base is my absolute favorite!

I followed Kristina’s instructions and was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out, the other watercolor flower card was doing a little different technique than the first card and my finished project was actually the second attempt at making the watercolor blend, my first one didn’t quite blend as well. After it was all dry and the flower stamped and heat embossed I mixed up some perfect pearls with water and painted the flower image so that it would stand out a little bit more from the background.

Both of these cards are definitely some of my favorite that I have ever made!

Thanks for visiting today! Hope you have a great day!

Trisha

Can't wait for C9 Summer Camp 2021!

(June 18, 2021)

I’m going to C9 Summer Camp and I can’t wait until June 25th!

I received my camp kit full of fun summer camp supplies and goodies, along with my field guide for all of the fun classes I will be taking!

I was so excited to find out that I am in the Oceanside cabin and my camp counselor is the amazing Laura Bassen! I love her and have been following her blog and youtube channel for years, she is funny, energetic, creative, and inspirational! I love her clean and simple designs.

There are a lot of fun things inside my kit for the crafty retreat I will be attending next weekend including some fun games.

They had a scavenger hunt all about the Concord & 9th company. It was fun searching through their social media posts and on their website looking for the answers.

There was also this Mad Lib (which I haven't done in ages!)

It would be so fun to have my sister Laura join me next year!

I also received my camp swag in time for camp as well. I can’t wait to wear my fun shirts, and the awesome hoodie, and have some hot cocoa from my new mug!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!

Trisha

C9 Summer Camp 2021

Concord and 9th are one of my top favorite companies and I love their products and people!

In June of 2021, I attended my first ever online virtual retreat with them and it was so much fun! It was their first virtual event also and they did such a great job!

They created the event with the theme of summer camp, and it was so cute. The instructors were called Camp Counselors. They each had a cabin that they were in charge of and the cabins & counselors were designated different colors from the Concord & 9th colors.

Greg who was the camp host (C9 owner) was so fun! He dressed up like going camping whenever he was on video with us, and at night to wrap up the day we had campfire time and played some fun games.

They had a yummy smores treat recipe in the instruction booklet along with some fun games to participate in.

The box of contents that we all received was awesome! It was full of exclusive stamps & dies, along with some ink, paper, twine, embellishments, the instruction booklet, and more!

They also offered some swag to purchase separately if we chose to(which I did).

My friend Marsha signed up for summer camp as well and came over to craft with me, we had a great time!

The following posts will be all about the fun time I had before, during, and after this amazing Summer Camp crafty retreat!

Thanks for visiting today, have a great day!
